I’m a multidisciplinary artist currently working in ceramic sculpture, occasionally mixed with found objects and other materials. My work thrives in contrast: smooth and rough, patterned and solid, familiar and quirky. It’s been called sensuous, uncomfortable, funny, and sometimes psychedelic.
Figure and gesture show up a lot in my forms - bodies, appendages, movement - things that feel like they’re doing something or about to. I don’t have a preferred construction method and utilize many techniques - wheel, coil, slab, pinch, sculpture - to build forms. Similarly, I’m always experimenting with various firing methods, tools and techniques to push surfaces and textures as far as I can.
